The Baffled 100: The World’s Least Influential People
Time Magazine not too long ago published an issue entitled The Time 100: The World’s Most Influential People, in which Time has selected, as the title suggests, 100 of the most influential people from all over the world, and invited other influential people to write praises of them.
The nature of the algorithm employed by Time to arrive at its list of 100 is not at all clear, but the thought occurs that if the group of most influential people is one side of a coin, the other must surely be a group of the least influential people.
We know that Time has to sell magazines, and that often modern culture elevates movie stars, politicians and even economists, but at the end of the day, isn’t this a silly, self-absorbed exercise?
To that end, we submit our photo montage of The Baffled 100: The World’s Least Influential People… You will have to look carefully: many of them are nearly invisible.
