“The Waldorf” - Vancouver BC Canada
Since it is Labour Day here in Canada and the U.S, I thought I would write about a neighbourhood watering hole where local labourers used to go.
“The Waldorf” has been a mainstay in Vancouver, BC Canada for 63 years. It was a place for longshoremen and fish cannery workers to go and have a drink or a bite to eat. Gone are those glory days. In the last couple of years The Waldorf has gone through a major facelift. It is now a place for the young hip crowd. I think if I went to the Tiki Bar they would probably ask me for I.D. and then refuse me entry because I am neither hip or young. I guess there is always “The Princeton Pub” a few blocks away, or maybe not. Maybe it has turned into a hip-shack. I might have to investigate that one further for a future blog..stay tuned.
